People go to stay in the country to relax and make themselves feel pampered and cared for. These days of rising crime and increased terrorism means that hotels need to take more stringent steps to protect their patrons. Travelers need to relax at a hotel where their whole family can leave their room at any time of the day or night, safe with the knowledge that there are no dangerous people laying in wait. They want to know that when they go out, the belongings left behind in their room are safe. They want to know that the hotel's personnel have complete visual access to the whole area all of the time, not just at the main entrance or on regular patrols, or when they remember to pay attention to the screens.
They want to know that if there is a problem, the business security systems will alert someone with specific and professional training in screening, monitoring, threat assessment and situation control who will come to help them. This requires an integrated security plan including total control of all means of ingress and egress to the building; coded, biometric room entry; constant CCTV surveillance of all public areas including entrances, hallways and staircases. As a result of the industry's efforts towards substantial miniaturisation, all of these technological advancements can be installed unobtrusively so that while guests are staying at a hotel offering them the maximum security possible, they will not even be aware any of it is there. At least not until the need for it arises and it serves to protect them.
